I only set this up in my 4.5x8m polytunnel a few days ago, but we have had some hot weather and the unit seems to be fairly sensitive to soil moisture and operated the c1030 plus unit accurately. The gardena units are made of abs plastic and appear to be good quality.
I am using the moisture sensor in my greenhouse in conjunction with the gardena water timer. Operation is quite simple and, so far after approximately 1 week operation, it seems to be working quite well by restricting the amount of watering. The intention is for the system to maintain the correct amount of watering throughout the summer after which i will be able to make a better judgement of the performance.
