This product requires home assembly which is not too bad but a clearer diagram would have helped. I wasn't sure about the assembly of the strap and rachet mechanism. In the end I believe I got it right. However performance was disappointing. Firstly it must be used on flat ground and this is stated in the instructions. However getting the log balanced right wasn't easy, the rachet mechanism didn't lock so well and the log (which wasn't straight,) was inclined to roll when pressure was put upon it. Admittedly I was using a hand saw rather than a chainsaw. I got the job done but the sawhorse could have done a better job helping me.
