Used wickes kiln dried sand and works absolutely fine, only slight issue is the suction hose is quite rigid and not particularly long, consequently if you have something above head height to clean it can pull the hose out of the bag/bucket. works great for small jobs not sure i would want to clean a whole patio with it though. 4m2 to 8m2 cleaning per 20kilo bag of sand.

Bought this to clean a moss covered and discoloured patio, where using water pressure only had failed. Only used it once so far and for a small area, but generally pleased with the result, and will be employing it further once the weather improves. I used sharp sand from a local builders merchant rather than buying the more expensive specialist grit. No problems setting it up, but i took note of comments posted by a previous reviewer and tried to ensure that the horizontal lift from bucket to lance was kept to a minimum.

Worked great,for me anyway.Took stains of concrete drive that had been there for years.Had tried dirt blaster on stains and it didnt shift it.Am going to try it on gloss paint graffiti on a brick wall and think it will cope well.Just make sure that you hold it with the sand takeup at the top.

Excellent does the job i want. But get plenty of sand.
