The Knipex 00 31 Photovoltaic Solar Installations Set is a compact two-piece tool kit designed specifically for the installation and maintenance of photovoltaic solar systems. It brings together two purpose-built tools — the ErgoStrip PV wire stripper and the PreciForce crimping pliers — to cover the core cabling tasks involved in PV work.

The ErgoStrip PV features an innovative pistol grip design that makes cutting, stripping, and longitudinal sheath slitting more comfortable and precise. It handles PV cables in 4 mm² and 6 mm² cross-sections (such as H1Z2Z2-K), as well as common round and damp-proof installation cables including NYM cable from 3 x 1.5 mm² up to 5 x 2.5 mm². The adjustable length stop runs from 6–18 mm and is compatible with all standard solar connectors.

The PreciForce crimping pliers are designed specifically for use with MC4® and MC4® Evo 2 connectors. A ratchet mechanism and factory-calibrated crimping pressure work together to ensure consistently high-quality, repeatable crimps — reducing the risk of poor connections in the field.
