The Makita DBS180 is a cordless belt sander that combines power and versatility for professional sanding applications. Part of Makita's 18v LXT range, this brushless belt sander delivers efficient performance on timber preparation, finishing work, and general sanding tasks across joinery, carpentry, and construction projects.
The brushless motor ensures extended runtime and durability, while the variable speed control (600-1,700m/min) allows precise adjustment for different materials and applications. An integrated LED job light illuminates the work surface in low-light conditions, and the electric brake stops the belt immediately when the trigger is released for enhanced safety and control.
Designed with practicality in mind, the adjustable sanding arm pivots up to 160° for compact storage, reducing the tool's footprint on site or in the workshop. The anti-start-up safety feature prevents accidental activation when the arm is folded beyond 90°, whilst the lock-on function provides comfort during extended sanding sessions. The tool accepts standard 9x533mm sanding belts and can be connected to a dust extractor with the appropriate attachment for cleaner working conditions.

The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
