Makita DJR185 18v LXT Cordless Reciprocating Saw
The Makita DJR185 is a compact 18v cordless reciprocating saw from the established JR100D series, designed for cutting wood, metal pipe and general demolition work on site. Part of Makita's popular LXT battery platform, this reciprocating saw delivers up to 3000 strokes per minute with a 13mm stroke length, making it suitable for both precision cutting and aggressive material removal. The lightweight design at just 1.5-1.8kg reduces fatigue during extended use whilst maintaining the power needed for demanding applications.
This cordless reciprocating saw features dual switching options with both a trigger switch on the tool handle and a paddle switch on the tool body, allowing comfortable operation from multiple grip positions. The rubberized soft grip enhances control and comfort, whilst the adjustable shoe provides stable material contact during cutting. A single LED job light with pre-glow function illuminates the cutting area before the trigger is fully engaged, improving visibility in confined spaces.
Ideal for carpenters, plumbers and general contractors tackling renovation work, pipe cutting or material dismantling, the DJR185 offers versatility through its compatibility with both standard reciprocating saw blades and jigsaw blades. Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
