The Makita DSC102 is a cordless threaded rod cutter designed for precise, burr-free cutting of mild steel and stainless steel threaded rods. Powered by Makita's 14.4V or 18V LXT lithium-ion batteries, this brushless tool delivers exceptional runtime and efficiency for electricians and mechanical contractors working with M6, M8, M10, and W3/8 threaded rods.
The energy-efficient brushless motor drives impressive productivity, with a 6.0Ah battery capable of cutting up to 2,700 M6 mild steel rods or 1,600 W3/8 mild steel rods on a single charge. The automatic blade stop mechanism ensures the blades return to a fully open position after each cut, eliminating frustration and enabling rapid operation when working through multiple cuts on installation projects.
Designed with overhead applications in mind, this cordless rod cutter features an ergonomic soft-grip handle, integrated LED work light for improved visibility, and a retractable joist hook that allows the tool to be safely hung between uses. Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
