Makita DSS501 18v LXT Cordless Circular Saw 136mm
The Makita DSS501 is a cordless 18V LXT circular saw that combines compact design with professional performance. With a 136mm blade diameter and 51mm cutting depth at 90°, this lightweight saw weighs just 2.6kg, making it highly manoeuvrable for extended use. Powered by Makita's LXT lithium-ion battery technology, it delivers 40% weight reduction compared to older Ni-MH and Ni-Cad alternatives whilst maintaining a reliable 3600 RPM no-load speed.
The saw features intelligent design elements for enhanced safety and precision, including a double safety trigger, large lock-off lever, and high-comfort grips. An integrated LED worklight creates an easy-to-trace cutting line in low-light conditions, whilst the removable dust nozzle helps maintain a clean working environment. Available in multiple kit configurations, from bare tool to complete sets with batteries, charger and Makpac storage.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
