This bare unit configuration of the Makita DUA301 telescopic pole saw is ideal for professionals already invested in the Makita LXT battery system. Supplied without batteries or charger, this option provides excellent value for tradespeople who have existing compatible 18V LXT batteries in their tool collection. You'll need two 18V LXT slide-type batteries to power the 36V brushless motor system.
The complete package includes everything required to get started except the power source: the telescopic pole saw body, 300mm guide bar with cover, saw chain, maintenance tools (hex wrench, wrench, and round file), band assembly for securing the pole sections, and chain oil supply to get you working immediately. This configuration suits arborists, groundsmen, and landscaping contractors who require a backup unit or prefer to select their preferred battery capacity separately based on runtime requirements for specific jobs.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
