The DUB184Z is the bare unit version, supplied as the tool body only without battery or charger. This configuration is ideal for professionals and existing Makita users who already own 18v LXT batteries and chargers, offering excellent value by avoiding duplicate purchases. The Z designation indicates this is a body-only option, allowing you to utilise your existing Makita power tool batteries across multiple tools.

The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
