This DUR189 configuration is supplied as a bare unit without batteries or charger, making it the ideal choice for existing Makita LXT users who already have compatible 18v batteries and charging equipment. This option offers excellent value whilst reducing unnecessary duplication of batteries in your toolkit.
The trimmer delivers professional performance with its brushless motor and intelligent ADT technology that automatically adjusts power delivery. Three selectable speed settings (4,000/5,000/6,000rpm) provide versatility for different grass conditions, whilst the length-adjustable bending pipe shaft ensures comfortable operation for users of varying heights.
The package includes everything needed to get started except the battery and charger: the trimmer itself, single harness for comfortable carrying, nylon cutting head, accessory bag, and hex wrench for maintenance.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
