Makita TM30D 12v Max CXT Cordless OIS Oscillating Multi Tool
The Makita TM30D 12v Max CXT Cordless OIS Oscillating Multi Tool is the first oscillating multi-tool in Makita's compact CXT range, designed for professional trades requiring precision cutting, sanding, and scraping. Part of the innovative CXT platform, it uses slide-on 12v lithium-ion batteries with multi-contact terminals that maintain solid connections even under vibration and impacts, with overload protection and functionality in extreme cold down to -20°C.
This versatile multi-tool features variable speed control from 6,000 to 20,000 oscillations per minute, allowing you to match the tool's performance to the material and application. The soft start circuit brings the motor up to full power smoothly without jolting, whilst the anti-restart function prevents accidental startup when power is restored. The ergonomic barrel grip housing provides comfortable handling during extended use, and accessories can be installed at 30° increments across a full 360° for optimal positioning.
Available as a bare unit or complete kit with batteries, charger, and case.

OIS vs Starlock Multi Tools
The OIS or Oscillating Interface System is the original accessory fitting system that many oscillating multi tools use. Tools that have this system are able to use OIS accessories or the newer Starlock accessories but do NOT fit Starlock Plus or Starlock Max accessories.
The Starlock accessory fitment system is fast becoming a newer standard for some brands. Starlock multi tools will only fit Starlock Accessories. OIS, Starlock Plus and Starlock Max accessories do not fit these multi tools.
The Starlock Plus accessory fitment system is a slight variation of the Starlock system. Starlock Plus multi tools will only fit Starlock and Starlock Plus Accessories. OIS and Starlock Max accessories do not fit these multi tools.
The Starlock Max accessory fitment system is a slight variation of the Starlock system it is the heaviest duty multi tool type. Starlock Max multi tools will only fit Starlock, Starlock Plus and Starlock Max Accessories. OIS accessories do not fit these multi tools.
