Exactly what i was looking for to replace a previous item. The only downside for me is that i don't have an enormous hand and the handle grip is very wide, i therefore have to pull the handles together before i obtain a grip to use them. i contacted someone at the company who was unable to offer any assistance and said there was not a like item with a smaller grip. Shame

I have used these diagonal side cutting nippers since I was a student 53 years ago. I have 3 pairs, one of which is the original from my student days. They are kept in different locations for convenience. As you see they last almost for ever. The jaws are phenomenally hard steel. One of the 3 pairs has just been resharpened for the first time. The other 2 were resharpened about 6 years ago. The levered action means that only very little pressure is needed to cut even very hard steel. I will not use any other side cutting pliers. Not cheap but you certainly get real quality. ps I am giving this reference even though it is 18 years since I bought my youngest pair. if you are considering buying these please don't hesitate -- you'll be buying a superb tool for your grandchildren!

The problem i had with these nippers was that they seemed blunt to me. i have some almost identical ones (in which the spring broke) which i have had for 4 or 5 years, and they still cut through wire (19g and 16g are the gauges i use them for) with a satisfying click and the off-cut flies away. with these new ones , the wire is just crushed and doesn't completely seperate. tooled up said they are not faulty, but did give me a refund. i just don't understand it!
