I have worked with these vices all engineering life (45yrs) and found them to be high quality, reliable, sturdy and the quick release works to perfection. In my work i need to be able to open and close the vice jaws onto varying sizes of work and, on many occasions, using one hand. The quick release made this a simple and much less taxing job. Just grip the ‘t’ bar, thumb the quick release and the jaw moves easily, in or out, to accommodate any work piece within its range.
I inherited this vice from my uncle who was a pipe fitter and have used and abused it for at leasr 30 years and has never shirked a task it must be about 100 years old and in need of a new set of jaws,i may well let my son do this as he has his eye in it
