Smart Holder Log Saw Horse

A very effective saw horse. A clever idea, well executed. I was worried that it might not be sufficiently substantial, but the build quality is excellent (although the price reflects this). No reason why this shouldn't give many years of good service.

This is a well thought out and study piece of kit that has taken a fair range of different diameter logs already. it took me a few goes to get used to securing the logs properly, so the stand has a few witness marks from the chain saw - they will need rust proofing. i now ensure the log is well "jammed" in against the teeth by pressing down on the long arm. curved branches and small diameter branches are the most difficult. it makes sawing very quick, but i'd recommend putting down a sheet if you are cutting over anywhere you want to clean up after, as it lets you generate a lot of sawdust in one spot very quickly (its my first saw horse, an i don't have a dedicated spot to use in the garden) the only point to watch is the side braces as i've had the wing nut come loose - one was difficult to locate against the noth at first. stopping to check its still secure every few logs should ensure safety, at least until bed in, as mine seems to have done now.
