The 5-prong Lawn Aerator is very sturdy but requires quite a lot of effort to use effectively, particularly in dry or heavy soil. I have to wait for my lawn soil to be quite wet before I can make any impression with the aerator.
found the hollow prongs extremely difficult to make penetrate the soil and they clogged up constantly and were hard to release plugs. a previous stainless steel version worked perfectly. this item now consigned to back of tool shed
