You get what you pay for. It's fine for light work and use as a general purpose tool. the screw shaft has loads of play so nothing will happen initially when closing or opening the jaws. rotating the vise is dependent upon the pressure of a bolt you can't get to without removing the vice. Mine is firmly locked down.

This is just the type of vice i was after for my garage workbench. handy for my diy work and useful when putting my fishing rigs together. also dead easy to attach to my bench.
