Trend Router Surfacing Jig

The Trend Router Surfacing Jig is a compact, adaptable woodworking jig designed for flattening, surfacing, and trenching work on wide or irregularly shaped material.

Built around twin 12mm stainless steel rails, the jig provides a stable, rigid platform capable of supporting routers up to 7kg without distortion. The running rails and router cradle are constructed from High Pressure Laminate (HPL) for wear-free performance and long-term accuracy. This makes it a reliable choice for repetitive surfacing tasks where consistency matters.

The jig accommodates stock up to 400mm wide and can be used for both cross-grain and along-the-grain cutting, as well as end grain routing for a clean finish. Depth of cut is managed through the router's own plunge mechanism, giving the operator precise control for fine skimming passes or deeper levelling cuts. The cradle can also be locked to the bars for single-axis movement, making it well suited to trenching work.

Setup is straightforward — a 30mm guide bush connection means there's no fixed sub base required, allowing fast attachment and removal across a range of router brands and sizes. The modular design supports the addition of extra running rails for longer sled configurations, while the slim profile keeps storage simple when the jig is not in use.
