super, powerful strimmer. I see some comments that unit uses too much strimmer cord, I would suggest that the unit is too powerful for standard 1.5mm strimmer cord. I have tried 2.00mm cord and it solves the problem.

This performs as you would expect for the price. It is much more powerful than the smaller strimmer it replaced. It cuts through grass at wall/fence boundaries with ease and when edging will cut a clear line (keep your concentration as if you go off line you will dig a furrow into your lawn). It clears the grass around a childs swing without taking the paint off the metal. I haven't yet tested it on thick undergrowth but feel it would handle all but tough woody stems of 1cm or thicker. Mine arrived missing the safety guard but after calling the helpline one was sent out.

Only used once up to now, but really thought it worked well. I have had quite a few strimmers in the past and been disappointed especially when the wire keeps breaking. First opinion is pleasing so hope it continues.

I had for years an earlier version of this from Black and Decker. The quality is very good of the new one. I preferred the dark green of the old one which also had a longer flex reducing the need for an extension. I also preferred the way the head could be flipped rather than rotated. Despite my comments it is a very good garden tool and excellent value for money.

When buying such a trimmer, you need to clearly understand for what purposes it is intended. It worked great for me when I leveled the lawn. But when I tried to mow the thick grass 30-40 cm high, which grew behind the house, he clogged it in three minutes. As a result of the repair, I had to buy the entire cover assembly with bearings, because one of them is completely out of order and does not spin. At the same time, the case itself, in which this cover is installed, also suffered. Due to a damaged bearing, it melted in the places of its landing, and now even a serviceable bearing will not sit there firmly, there is a backlash. And yes, you cannot replace the case, as it is not produced as a spare part. So if you are going to cut thick, tall grass, this is not the trimmer you want.

Seems like a good strimmer but on first use the line feed tended to overfeed the line, resulting in all the line being used in one session. this was the spool that came with it. Have reloaded the spool and will try again.

It all works as intended out of the box and easily adjustable for different heights of peeps. Having been used to something else for a long time it just getting used to angles and distances. I’d like a harness attachment option - easier on the body all round I’d say. Overall, perfectly chuffed.

Q : do you supply a mains lead with this item and how does it fit for power input?
A : Hi there, yes this machine will come complete with a 240v UK mains cable - if you look at the usage images on our site you can see how it is connected on to the tool via a trailing connector. It doesn't require any assembly or anything though; Black & Decker send them out ready to use.

Q : Does this strimmer go right up to walls, kerbs and fences. I have weeds growing up our stone walls, I need the strimmer to get these. My previous strimmer did not do this rendering it useless!
A : Hi Tracy, unfortunately I don't have any experience with using this particular model so I can't answer with any authority, although I suspect this issue would most likely be caused by protrusions like the wheel attachment on this Black & Decker - it may be worth looking at models that don't have this kind of feature if you want to get right up against solid walls etc.
