Q : What size belts does this powerfile sander take - I have seen 13mm by both 451mm and 457 mm mentioned. the reason I ask is I have a BD282 model powerfile and I bought 50 belts for it some time ago and I want to use them on a new machine if I buy it. The motor packed up on the BD 282 after 30 years!
A : Hi Martin, a third of a century (approx) isn't bad going! I can see what you mean - it seems to be only on Amazon that they list it with 457mm belts, whereas everywhere else, including the Black & Decker website states 451mm.... I checked with Black & Decker to see if they could clarify and they said it should be 451mm according to their specifications.

This product carries a full 2 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables.
