easy to assemble, very good to work with, does a very good job, would recommend this item, good value for money
Totally satisfied with this product
A complete newby to power tools being of "mature years" but I found it so easy to use. It is straightforward to put the blades in and remove, following the recommended safety guidelines I was soon carrying out tasks I needed to do. Definitely recommend.
Great saw which does what it says. The larger blade is a bit flimsy but cuts well. Easy to use
Does the job but the blade can be prone to coming loose.
WORKING OK BUT SAWBLADE GRIP ALREADY WEARING AND LOOSENING UP AFTER ONLY 3 WEEKS...
A replacement last one 30 years old
This saw is ok for the price but dont expect it to last very long. Ive had them before and the motor packs up after a while. Its also tricky changing the blades
I was disappointed with this purchase. It arrived with only 2 blades included. Because I was in urgent need of the saw I had to pay £10 to get the blade I needed. So in this case I was disappointed with the purchase.
Very handy little saw, does the job perfectly, small enough for the wife to use. Will cover most jobs around the house with ease. Excellent value.

Customer Questions & Answers
Q : my saw blade has come severed from the blade release can it be repared
A : Hi there, I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure what you mean - if it is just the blade itself which has been damaged I think you would have trouble getting it back to usable condition. If it is stuck inside the machine, or the machine itself is damaged I'm sure it can be repaired, although whether it will prove economically viable to do so depends on the extent of the damage. The Black & Decker KS890ECN is covered by a 2 year warranty so if it still within guarantee period and you believe it is due to a fault with the machine you will be able to raise it with Black & Decker as a warranty issue.
Q : Does this saw come complete with blades?
A : Hi Emily, yes - the Black & Decker KS890CEN is supplied with a starter pack of blades
Q : The bl, never any problems, but now it keeps dropping offde keeps falling off, I have had it for over a year
A : Hi John, the KS890ECN has a 24 month warranty from point of purchase so as long as it's not been used for commercial purposes you will be able to contact the dealer you purchased it from to arrange a return if it needs servicing or replacing
Q : I like this little saw, but am concerned that the blade is becoming very slack. This happened once before and the blade fell out while in use, but it was still under guarantee then. Is this likely to happen again.
A : Hi Maureen, I'm afraid I can't say if you are likely to experience this issue again, although all machines will inevitably start to fail in one way or other after they have been used for long enough - however it does seem like quite a few users find that they have trouble fitting the blades correctly on these tools, so it may be worth watching a few videos online to see if there's anything you're missing when doing this? (apparently the manual doesn't make it very clear)
Q : I am interested in the maximum size of log it will cut. In one post you say it will cut a branch up to 229mm but in another you say it is NOT suitable for cutting a branch of 60mm??! Can you please clarify. Many thanks.
A : Hi Rebecca, I'm not sure who wrote the reply about it not being able to cut through 60mm branches but it was obviously a mistake! (maybe they were thinking 60cm?) As stated in the other reply you mention, with a blade of 239mm and taking into account the 10mm reciprocating action of the tool, you should be able to cut through logs of up to around 229mm diameter.
Q : I am considering buying this saw to remove some dead branches from a small tree in my garden. I read the answer below that the saw is not suitable to remove a branch of 60mm. Can you tell me what thickness of branch it is suitable for please?
A : With a blade length of 239mm, the maximum branch size this saw will cut would be about 229mm.
Q : Does this saw come with plastic carry case as I know purchases a few years ago came with case?
A : This saw does not come with a case, however, the KS890EK does come with a case.
Q : is the scorpion saw suitable for cutting 100mm square fence posts
A : When combined with the X29961 Wood & Plastic Cutting Blade. This saw will be capable of cutting through 100mm square fence posts
Q : How many blades come with this saw. Is this saw suitable for cutting tre branches 60mm thick
A : I can confirm this Black and Decker Saw does come with 3 different blades and it is not suitable for cutting tree branches of 60mm thick.
