The planetary gears nearest the drill body are of rather soft metal and wore so the drill would not work. A replacement gear race would have been best, but . . . Extremely useful ‘nose’ for the drill (& should be standard with new drill! ???? but . . . Excellent combination & flexible tool. I couldn’t do without this now.

Q : 1. Can you supply the internal planetary cogs nearest the drill body? These have worn badly over the years and they no longer engage. I would prefer to get replacements rather than a complete unit, but: 2. Does this version have a small extension on the right hand side on the location lug on the underneath? I cannot tell from the website photo. (This is obviously a ‘safety catch’ so the drill cannot work without an attached unit.) I have a version from Japan (with a red select/clutch ring rather than this blue one).
A : Hi Ian, unfortunately we're not a spares dealer so we can't supply any parts for this machine - Black & Decker have a spares & repairs service which can be accessed via their UK website and they can supply a lot of replacement parts. I'm not sure if you will be able to get those cogs from them to be honest but they should be able to help with your other question - we don't have any of these in stock at our shop so I'm unable to check one for you. If you can't get spares from Black & Decker you may be able to obtain them through a third party spares dealer (unfortunately in many cases it makes more economic sense to buy a whole new unit but you never know!)

This product carries a full 2 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables. In the unlikely event of a fault the item returned is subject to fair wear & tear and must not have been used beyond the scope of it's design.
