Read 45 Customer Review(s) for Black and Decker PS7525 Pole Tree Pruner
It's a very good tool and does an excellent job.
Pretty good pole chainsaw. Takes a bit of getting used to the chain tightness required to keep it running. Top tip keep checking.. especially with a new chain which stretches easily. 2 stroke oil not supplied but when loaded also needs a constant check. Biggest drawback is that it’s very heavy. Otherwise does a good job on trees, it tends to jam a lot trimming hedges.
As I am 83, it was a bit heavy. But I got used to it and it performed well. It was easy to assemble and I would recommend it.
Nothing wrong with the product but the packaging needs rethinking. Due to the item being so long, the carriers try to fold it in half or throw heavy boxes on top. The first one went back as the carton had been ripped open and DHL had resealed it. The second one had edge reinforcement strips added but still had holes pinched in the box. An extra outer jacket would be the only way to protect the product.
I initially bought this and a 400mm chain saw, I have to say I have been nothing but impressed with it as the other chainsaw has hardly been used, cutting next door’s wildly overgrown trees has been a breeze. Build quality and versatility has been outstanding which has made me look very professional as I’m an old factory worker.
Excellent value for money. Does exactly what I bought it for.
great product well balanced and cut through a high hedge easily
Durable - metal alloy motor housing, quality Oregon chain drive. Straightforward to assemble & use. Telescopic section when extended, gives a very long reach when holding it. Used it 3 times now on large bushes (10ft high+) and trees. Cuts through branches easily 25mm thick ( so far) and thicker branches on hedges. Can get clogged with younger thinner branches - MUST TENSION the chain saw correctly. Don't have the chain too slack. Small oil reservoir, so need to check it regularly. Use a small funnel to refill, as its easy to overfill it straight from the chainsaw 1 litre bottle. Overall an excellent tool for my garden and trees.
Comes in illustrated box advertising contents No outside wrapping. Had to get chain oil as none supplied. Value for money excellent. Does everything it says. Really very heavy when extended due to motor/chain out so far. Cuts efficiently. (Undercut branch slightly before cutting from above stops splitting. Also check where branch will fall). This could be painful. Keep checking chain tension. The height this can reach is fantastic without ladder or steps. Everybody wants to borrow it.
A brilliant piece of kit for the price. Easy to put together, good features - oil level indicator window, ability to alter angle of cutting, shoulder harness that can take the weight of the machine without which would be quite heavy to hold especially when fully extended. Cuts through a good range of thicknesses easily and quickly and not particularly noisy.
Bought this to prune large apple trees without aid of ladders. It proved to be very effective with minimum effort really pleased with the purchase. No problems cutting through thicker branches either. Remember to purchase plenty of the appropriate oil to ensure the chain is continually lubricated, I also bought a spare chain as a backup but to my satisfaction the chain is still performing so far and has exceeded my expectations. Just remember when cutting not to allow the blade to get trapped ensure the branch will fall away from the blade edge and also constantly checking the chain tension for the heavy jobs. Have recommended this product to my brother he was amazed at the results.
Whilst it is early days and have only used this item for the first time - I am delighted in all respects. Never used Tooled-Up before and am most impressed with the ordering process including updates on progress, also fast and efficient delivery service. The product is well made, plus being simple to assemble and use. It tackled all types of tree branches with ease despite them being rather damp.
Good Product description and delivery was very prompt. Simple to follow build instructions, very pleased with performance. All round excellent performance.
Little heavy to hold the pole, but I let the machine do all the work by resting the machine on the branch before starting the machine. I cut several branches in minutes. Very easy to assemble and use
Cut down a 30 foot Hawthorne Tree. Never missed a beat although it does need a new chain now. Does feel a little heavy with prolonged use. Very pleased with my purchase and would recommend.
Early days but seems like a good piece of kit.
Excellent tool Good price Fast Delivery In my view Battery powered things overrated unless portability essential
Seems a very nice product. Reasonably easy to assemble the saw. Have tested it and it worked well, but not used it to do any real work yet.
Very fast shipping from Tooled Up. Best internet price. Very easy to use pruner. Easy to assemble chain. Chain as it is new must be soaked in chainsaw oil for one hour before use. At full extension may feel a bit heavy after using for a while. Very happy with purchase.
This is my first pole saw, I found it easy to put the chain on and fill with oil. I bought It to cut some high branches, but used it initially for assisting in reducing a laurel hedge by a foot. It cut through the thicker stems with no problem, the build is good the main shaft is a fibre construction which makes it light. I’m very pleased with the product only down side is that the motor is at the cutting end which makes it a bit heavy. I got used to it after a while and rested in between cuts clearing branch debris to make a safe working area

Customer Questions & Answers
Q : I soaked the chain in oil overnight and filled up the reservoir. However, after using the first time the chain was dry and the oil reservoir level Gad not gone down. As the oil not getting through to the chain. Any ideas how to solve this?
A : Hi Nick, I'm afraid I'm not aware of any common issues affecting this machine and it sounds like your best bet will be to contact Black & Decker. Hopefully their service department will be able to troubleshoot the problem and identify the cause. The PS7525 is supplied with a 2 year warranty so I'm guessing you should be covered if it turns out it needs servicing.
Q : Where is this pole saw made
A : I believe Black & Decker have a few different manufacturing facilities around the world so it could vary, but I would guess the vast majority of the manufacturing will be done in China
Q : Is this able to be plugged in to normal household plug socket
A : Hi Linda, yes - anything that says Voltage: 240v in the top right corner is a corded electric tool which can be plugged into a standard household power socket
Q : hi, would this cut through a conifer trunk say 20cm thick?
A : Hi Matt, the PS7525 has a 25cm of cut capacity so anything within this range shouldn't be a problem
Q : Does the chain saw come ready assembled or do I need to assemble the cutting head myself?
A : The bar and chain are packed separately in the box and need to be installed before it is ready for use
Q : can you buy extension pieces to make it longer
A : There are no extensions available for this tool currently
Q : Hi, what oil is recommended for this tool. And how long warranty? Thanks
A : Hi Stephen, the PS7525 has a two year (domestic) warranty. Any type of chain oil will be suitable - just type in chainsaw chain oil into the search bar to see the ones we sell.
Q : What is the shortest lenth you can have
A : Hi Neil, Black & Decker don't supply the dimensions so it's a bit hard to say exactly without opening a new one up but you can get a good idea by looking at the position of the collar about half way up the shaft on the images of it in use - this is where the extension comes out from so it's a fair size even before extending it.
