DeWalt DCH614 54v XR Cordless FLEXVOLT SDS Max Combination Hammer
The DeWalt DCH614 54v XR FLEXVOLT SDS Max Combination Hammer delivers true cordless freedom for professional contractors tackling heavy-duty drilling and demolition tasks. Powered by DeWalt's innovative FLEXVOLT battery system, this machine offers the kind of performance previously reserved for corded tools — without the restrictions of a trailing cable on site.
The FLEXVOLT battery platform is a standout feature for trade professionals. Not only do these 54v batteries power the heavy-duty FLEXVOLT tool range, but they are also backward compatible with DeWalt's extensive 18v XR cordless system, delivering significantly extended runtime compared to standard 18v packs.
Available as either a bare tool (no batteries or charger) or as a complete kit with two 9.0Ah batteries, a charger, and a carry case, there is a configuration to suit professionals who are already invested in the DeWalt ecosystem or those looking to build a new system from scratch.
Features and Benefits:
• 54v FLEXVOLT cordless system for outstanding power without a mains cable
• SDS Max chuck for secure, fast bit changes on heavy-duty applications
• Combination hammer functionality — drill, hammer drill, and chisel modes
• FLEXVOLT batteries also compatible with DeWalt 18v XR tool range
• Ideal for structural drilling, concrete breaking, and heavy demolition on commercial sites
• Go-anywhere portability — perfect for remote or multi-level job sites
Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
DeWalt Flexvolt
DeWalt 54v Flexvolt is the new DeWalt dual voltage system. A 54v Tool can only use 54v batteries, however your new DeWalt 54v Flexvolt battery is fully compatible with all DeWalt 18v Li-ion Power Tools as it is capable of stepping into 18v mode for this purpose.
So upgrading to 54v means you can still make use of your 18v power tool range. 54v batteries are currently available in:
6ah (18v mode) / 2ah (54v mode)
9ah (18v mode) / 3ah (54v mode)
12ah (18v mode) / 4ah (54v mode)
The DeWalt Flexvolt system opens the door to types of tool becoming available in cordless that would never have been considered before such as Table Saws.
