This is a heavy axe which takes quite a bit of trial & error to get using effectively. Once I got going the axe does exactly what it says on the tin and splits logs with ease. The hammer head function is handy when the axe gets stuck in the log, you just hit it a few times with a mallet and Bob's your uncle. The shaft displays the warning to protect your eyes when using the axe, very wise words. Little bits of wood fly everywhere as does the split log. Great fun though and a good work out for the upper body.
