Faithfull No.5 Bench Plane

The Faithfull No.5 Bench Plane is a traditional jack plane designed for the initial preparation and smoothing of rough timber. With its 355mm overall length and 50mm cutter width, this versatile plane bridges the gap between smaller smoothing planes and larger jointer planes, making it an essential tool for carpenters and joiners working with solid wood.

Constructed from quality grey cast iron, the plane body provides the strength and stability needed for consistent, accurate planing. The precision ground base and sides ensure flatness and squareness, whilst machined seatings eliminate blade movement and judder during use. A brass locking screw on the lever cap secures the blade assembly and enables quick release for sharpening.

Traditional wooden handles and guidance knobs deliver comfortable control during extended planing sessions. The solid brass blade adjustment nut allows for precise depth control and adds to the quality appeal of this traditional tool. The plane is presented in a fine hinged wooden storage case for protection when not in use.

Please note the blade will require honing before first use to achieve optimal cutting performance.
