Festool RTS 400 REQ-Plus RUTSCHER Orbital Sander

The Festool RTS 400 REQ-Plus is a compact orbital sander designed for one-handed use on vertical surfaces, narrow areas, and overhead applications. Weighing just 1.5 kg and built around a 250 W motor, it delivers controlled, consistent sanding performance across a wide range of materials and task types.

At the heart of the RTS 400 is Festool's MMC control electronics, which maintain a constant working speed and deliver up to 25% greater material removal capacity compared to previous models. The variable stroke rate of 12,000–24,000 min?¹ allows the user to match the speed to the material, whether stripping paint from window frames, preparing bare timber for varnishing, or finishing furniture veneers.

Dust management is handled by a long-life, reusable chip collection bag made from nonwoven polyester, or alternatively via the CLEANTEC bayonet connecting system for use with a compatible mobile dust extractor. The attachable PROTECTOR accessory reduces the risk of marking surfaces when sanding close to edges or along window frames and panelling, minimising rework on site.

The sander ships complete with a StickFix 80 x 130 mm sanding pad, a 4-metre plug-it power cable, and is stored and transported in a Festool Systainer SYS3 M 187 case for straightforward integration with other Festool storage and transport systems.
