Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
The Power4All battery system is a range of tools from various manufacturers you can buy knowing that the batteries are compatible with all tools from all manufacturers providing they are of the same voltage. Power4All has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions! So remember Power4All signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range of all manufacturers who sell Power4All Battery Tools. In the UK current Power4All compatible brands are Bosch H&G 18v, Steinel DIY 18v, Gardena 18v and Flymo 18v. More are being added all the time.

Purchased for my mum who's in her late seventies and still wants to manage her garden herself. Mower is very lightweight and easy to push with just one hand. Bonus feature is the fact there are no grass cuttings to compost or dispose of. Recommend for smaller gardens. Only used it once so far so not sure on how long it will last but very happy with purchase!
I wanted a cordless mower but with a very small London lawn (aka patch of grass) the options were limited. I had seen a favourable review of this product via Gardener's World and decided to go for it. I have also waited until I had used it before writing this review. In all, I am pleased I bought it. It is lightweight, easy to store and with a couple of readings easy now to and remove the battery. This charges quickly and still has juice after mowing my lawn. It's easy to move around and cuts well - plus the bonus of not having to clear up clippings. I have not experienced it cutting out mid-cut. My only reservation (and the 3 star under features) is the safety key which has to be ed/removed for the mower to start/shut down. It's bright orange but not very big and I have secured it to the actual mower by way of a bungee cord in case it gets mislaid. I would have been happier if 2 keys were provided and will be exploring whether spare keys can be purchased. Otherwise all good by me
So it's a good size and easy to handle, definitely for small lawns. Cut is not as low as I would like, but OK. One annoying thing is when you push the mower away from you, and the handle flattens, the motor cuts out. I guess I'll have to change the way I mow. Four stars after two uses, maybe next month it would be five, hopefully not three.
It is one of the lightest and most compact lawnmower in the market. Hence it is much more agile than most completing products. It is true that it has a narrower blade which requires multiple runs to cover the same area that can be done in a single row of other models. But the lighter and easier maneuvers makes up for that. My only complaint is that the maximum operational tilt of the handle is lower than the 70° as stated. I have to restart the mower more than I would like to due to this design.
100 %! Love it. Easy to store away and works very well. I have 3 x 15 sqm patches of lawn to mow and it is no problem to do all in one go with the 2. 5 Ah battery that came with my Bosch jigsaw and that I use for my Bosch hedgecutter too. The mower gives a sturdy impression and it mulches the leaves, which have fallen onto the lawn, too, without any problems. The mulch is not recognizable, so no need for raking afterwards. I would buy it again even if my lawn was bigger, because it is so easy to handle. I mow more often now, because it's done much quicker, no complicated set up or heavy carrying.
Easy to use. Lightweight. Ideal at the moment as I am using a walking aid. Wasn't sure if the 2.5 battery would suffice. It proved to be adequate.
This mower is ideal for someone who has a small lawn and limited storage space. I was finding my old mower far too heavy and this is the perfect solution. The mower is well made and I find easy to use. I am really pleased.
Small, but perfectly formed. Only used a couple of times on our small lawn but performed well. It's not needed a charge as yet. Light and easy to store.
This is a definite improvement on my previous Flymo. I have a pretty small city sized lawn. This mower is super-compact but just big enough to do a 3m * 5m lawn in around 20 min. It's quieter than a corded electric mower and so far a lot less maintenance.
Tooled Up is terrific. Great communicators. Great product and so very pleased it was possible to buy it with the battery. It seems though it is very expensive for such a small product. Again Tooled-Up is a company with great customer service. You have raised the bar on communication and keeping the customer informed D Smith
Well designed, lightweight and easy to manoeuvre for small areas.
Excellent product for the small garden - performs well but time will tell how durable it is given the hard plastic components.
I'm so happy with my new Gardena Handymower! Yes,the price was higher than other cordless mowers, but the features of it made me decide to purchase it. I’ve only used it three times since it arrived. For my small back garden, it is perfect for ease of use and a quick job well done. It is so small and lightweight that I am storing it inside my flat, near the doorway, to keep it clean and dry. Its weight and size isn't much different from my cordless Dyson, so extremely easy to carry to the garden and to use, easily getting close to the edges of my plants without damaging them and cutting the grass along the borders. Without a grass catcher, the job is done in a fraction of the time compared to my previous electric mower. Not worrying about keeping the cord out of my way while mowing has also saved me a lot of time and worry. The job that took me one hour with my electric corded mower takes me less than 20 minutes now. The battery power lasts for longer than I need to do the job, so no worry about it running out and needing to go back to finish the job. The battery recharges very quickly, in about one hour. I’m so pleased to have found it from this business because it could be ordered with the battery and charger, complete, which I could not find anywhere else. It's also very easy to clean. It's so completely different from any other mower that I've seen, taking up nearly no room and being so light and easy to lift, carry and use. I just hope that it lasts a long time to confirm that I made the right decision to pay more for this unique cordless mower. The only slight downside that I'm getting used to, is that if the handle isn't kept at the correct angle for mowing, it will stop, meaning that if the handle is held too high or too low, the power cuts out and needs to be restarted. But that's a minor learning curve to adjust to.
A very neat mower, perfect for my small lawn, perfect to store easily and discreetly, and perfectly easy to put together and operate. I am a novice gardener and had, before this, never mowed a lawn in my life. I can't yet comment on its performance over time as this is a recent purchase. But, so far, really good.
We chose this very small rotary mower as we decided to have our garden shrubs surrounded by grass and quite close together. This works perfectly and mulches the cuttings - very effective and well constructed.
Well built, lightweight, low noise, mulches, easy to manoeuvre and carry. Great lawnmower.
The only down side of this product is having to purchase battery and charger separate, it is a dream to use so easy even for my arthritic hands and back. Light weight easy to store and so easy to clean, in all a totally fabulous mower ??
Wonderful! Finally, a small, compact lawnmower that really is small and compact! It fits in my garden bench and no other lawnmower has managed to do that! The handle easily unscrews so that it can be stored in small places. Mows very nicely. Easy to manoeuvre.
It was a great little mower but unfortunately it just stopped working after 10 mins use. The auto cut off when the handle went to far up or down took a bit of getting use to. The cut was great, mulched the grass very well. I asked for a replacement, but the customer service was terrible, very rude lady who made you feel as you are an inconvenience, I got a refund with no explanation why. Would recommend the mower just not tooled up.
It's not cheap even though I bought it before the price went up quite dramatically. However for a small area of grass it is a feasible option. My only two adverse comments are: 1) The cutting cuts out on anything other than level ground unless you ensure (with practice) that the mower head remains level and 2) it's not possible to cut grass close to trees because of the width of the mower's head. One other thing: you need to clear the blades of a build up of cut grass otherwise it stops working. Overall though, it's a better choice than a small cheap petrol driven mower.

Customer Questions & Answers
Q : Will my Bosch 18V 2,0Ah Li-on battery (from my Bosch drill) be compatible with this lawnmower?
A : Hi Sandy, as long as you drill is from the Bosch PowerForAll (Green) range your battery will be compatible, yes. Note that if you have a Bosch Professional (Blue) 18v drill, these use a different type of battery which isn't suitable.
Q : Does this cope with slopes and uneven ground? (by the way, I asked this on the battery page by mistake, sorry!)
A : Hi Rosemary, I was about to address your original question but I've just noticed this follow-up which is a bit easier to answer :) I suspect you might have trouble using the Handymower on sloped and uneven ground - reason being it has a safety feature which stops the blades if the handles are tilted too much. From feedback I've seen regarding this machine, some users have found it difficult to keep the handles level enough to prevent it cutting out, and I expect this is a problem that occurs on terrain like you mention.
