Gardena HANDYMOWER P4A 18v Cordless Rotary Lawnmower 220mm
Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Power4All
The Power4All battery system is a range of tools from various manufacturers you can buy knowing that the batteries are compatible with all tools from all manufacturers providing they are of the same voltage. Power4All has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions! So remember Power4All signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range of all manufacturers who sell Power4All Battery Tools. In the UK current Power4All compatible brands are Bosch H&G 18v, Steinel DIY 18v, Gardena 18v and Flymo 18v. More are being added all the time.

Read 22 Customer Review(s) for Gardena HANDYMOWER P4A 18v Cordless Rotary Lawnmower 220mm
This is my second handy mower, the first stopped working after 9 months. Gardena were happy to replace, through seller, under the guarantee, which all worked well - though the price for delivery of the new one (postage) was an extra £8. So yes I have a new mower, but it's cost me extra. As most people say if you have the mower handle too upright or too flat it cuts out. I imagine doing a bank, where it should be useful, would be a right pain. I also find the cut is too high on it's lowest setting, but I do like a low cut. Run time is good, and the mulch works fine, also light enough for most people to handle.
Purchased for my mum who's in her late seventies and still wants to manage her garden herself. Mower is very lightweight and easy to push with just one hand. Bonus feature is the fact there are no grass cuttings to compost or dispose of. Recommend for smaller gardens. Only used it once so far so not sure on how long it will last but very happy with purchase!
I wanted a cordless mower but with a very small London lawn (aka patch of grass) the options were limited. I had seen a favourable review of this product via Gardener's World and decided to go for it. I have also waited until I had used it before writing this review. In all, I am pleased I bought it. It is lightweight, easy to store and with a couple of readings easy now to and remove the battery. This charges quickly and still has juice after mowing my lawn. It's easy to move around and cuts well - plus the bonus of not having to clear up clippings. I have not experienced it cutting out mid-cut. My only reservation (and the 3 star under features) is the safety key which has to be ed/removed for the mower to start/shut down. It's bright orange but not very big and I have secured it to the actual mower by way of a bungee cord in case it gets mislaid. I would have been happier if 2 keys were provided and will be exploring whether spare keys can be purchased. Otherwise all good by me
So it's a good size and easy to handle, definitely for small lawns. Cut is not as low as I would like, but OK. One annoying thing is when you push the mower away from you, and the handle flattens, the motor cuts out. I guess I'll have to change the way I mow. Four stars after two uses, maybe next month it would be five, hopefully not three.
It is one of the lightest and most compact lawnmower in the market. Hence it is much more agile than most completing products. It is true that it has a narrower blade which requires multiple runs to cover the same area that can be done in a single row of other models. But the lighter and easier maneuvers makes up for that. My only complaint is that the maximum operational tilt of the handle is lower than the 70° as stated. I have to restart the mower more than I would like to due to this design.
100 %! Love it. Easy to store away and works very well. I have 3 x 15 sqm patches of lawn to mow and it is no problem to do all in one go with the 2. 5 Ah battery that came with my Bosch jigsaw and that I use for my Bosch hedgecutter too. The mower gives a sturdy impression and it mulches the leaves, which have fallen onto the lawn, too, without any problems. The mulch is not recognizable, so no need for raking afterwards. I would buy it again even if my lawn was bigger, because it is so easy to handle. I mow more often now, because it's done much quicker, no complicated set up or heavy carrying.
