Gardena Smart Soil Moisture Sensor

The Gardena Smart Soil Moisture Sensor is an intelligent monitoring device designed to optimise watering schedules and conserve water in gardens, lawns and planters. Part of the Gardena smart system, it measures soil moisture and ground temperature with precision, transmitting real-time data directly to your smartphone or tablet via the Gardena smart App.

When integrated with the smart Gateway and a smart Irrigation Control System, this sensor ensures your lawn and plants receive water only when genuinely needed. This intelligent approach prevents unnecessary watering, promotes healthier plant growth and significantly reduces water consumption. The sensor's large measuring field functions like a digital root, conducting accurate measurements directly in the root zone where it matters most.

The compact, modern design features a particularly flat top section that allows lawnmowers and robotic mowers to pass safely overhead, making it ideal for positioning in the middle of lawn areas. The sensor performs reliably across diverse soil conditions and works effectively whether installed deeper in lawn soil or at shallower depths in flower pots and planters on balconies or terraces.

Operating wirelessly on two AA batteries that last an entire garden season, the sensor offers flexible placement anywhere in your garden. Measurement data is transmitted via radio to the Gardena smart Gateway (required for operation and included in all Gardena smart system Start Sets) and displayed on the Gardena smart App, compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems.
