The Hozelock Sunrise/Sunset Programmable Sensor Water Timer is an automatic watering controller designed to irrigate gardens at optimal times of the day. Ideal for maintaining consistent watering schedules in gardens, greenhouses, and allotments, this intelligent timer uses a built-in daylight sensor to automatically start watering at sunrise or sunset, eliminating the need for manual intervention during inconvenient hours.

The daylight sensor continuously adjusts watering times throughout the year as sunrise and sunset times shift with the seasons, providing autonomous operation that requires minimal maintenance. Users can select from six watering durations—2, 5, 10, 20, 30 or 60 minutes—allowing quick adjustments to respond to changing weather conditions without consulting the instruction manual. The watering frequency can be customised from daily operation for hot, dry periods down to every 2, 3, 5 or 7 days for plants requiring less frequent irrigation.

A manual override function provides flexibility when watering is needed outside the programmed schedule. The Water Now button offers instant operation with selectable durations of 10, 30 or 60 minutes, whilst pressing again cancels the cycle for shorter periods. Low battery warning lights and charge status LED indicators monitor available power, whilst an onboard failure prevention system detects critically low battery levels before commencing a watering cycle, preventing water waste from mid-task power loss.

This versatile controller works with garden sprinklers at up to 10 Bar, low-pressure micro irrigation systems at 1.5 Bar, or water butts at 0.1 Bar thanks to its unique ball valve component. The unit includes adaptors for 21mm (1/2" BSP), 26.5mm (3/4" BSP) and 33.3mm (1" BSP) connections, ensuring compatibility with most standard garden taps. The controller operates on 2x AA batteries.
