Have not had much chance of testing this pump yet but if it is up to the usual karcher standard then all should be as it should be. I am looking forward to exploring its features and also saving on the water bill!!!

Not really used in anger yet but tested the unit out by suspending in a water butt and connecting to a small length of hose. the hose was very easy to connect onto a 'hozelock' type connector which is on the hook which goes over the rim of the water butt - no fiddling around in the depths of the butt. the float switch can either be placed in the housing (yellow triangle) or dangled in the water. we kept it in the housing and at first thought the unit wasn't working when we tried to switch it on. we then realised that the yellow triangle needed to moved round further than perhaps the instructions show to switch the pump on. it then worked very well. the flow rate seemd to be very good but this was over a short distance. the pump was very quiet in use. we have yet to use it properly i.E. Pumping water from our water butts to a pond but we are hopeful that it will do the job well when the time comes.

The image is rather misleading - there is no stiff connection between the pump and the control head. It is just a hose pipe and so it would not stand up on its own. To use the pump as shown you would need to hook the control head over a chair back or similar support. The yellow triangle is a float switch, and can be used manually, as shown, by rotating it between 2 click points to switch the pump on and off, or allowing it to dangle into the water so that when the level falls below a certain limit the pump will switch itself off. The limit is determined by how much flex is left free. Unfortunately the flex is fairly stiff and so it is a little restrictive to use in practice. having said all this it is an excellent pump with good flow rate for the price. It will run happily with the flow blocked, and so can be used to feed a pressure washer - eg with soft water for car washing - or in the so called bowser mode as famously used by no. 10 downing street to water their roses during a hose pipe ban! Apparently you fill up a container from the tap - not using a hose - and then you pump the water out of the container onto your plants using a hose "not connected to the mains". The rules do change from year to year so check first!!

Great for moving large quantities of water to a pond and for garden watering. clip for valve works well on a straight edge but does not fit conventional garden water barrel.
