Q : Is this a good set to begin using a dtm51zm mulli tool?
A : Hi Geoffrey, the Makita DTM51 uses the OIS accessory system which predates Starlock - however all Starlock accessories are backwards compatible with it so will work, as long as they are standard Starlock and not Starlock Plus or Max. So there are quite a few accessory sets which will work with that machine and I suppose it depends what jobs you have in mind - I'm a bit unsure as to what this set is supposed to come with however, as it looks like it includes two sanding backing pads which aren't referenced in the description. The Makita website is no clearer so hopefully we'll be able to confirm once stock comes in.
