The Makita DBN501 is a cordless 18 gauge brad nailer built for professional second-fix and interior finishing applications, including trim work, skirting boards, architraves and cabinetry.
Powered by Makita's 18v LXT lithium-ion battery platform, the DBN501 uses a pneumatic spring mechanism to deliver a firing action that closely replicates the feel of a traditional air nailer — without the need for a compressor, air hoses or gas cartridges. The brushless motor improves energy efficiency, extends runtime and reduces long-term maintenance requirements, making it well suited to demanding site use.
The slim nose profile aids nail placement accuracy in tight or restricted areas, while tool-less jam clearing helps minimise downtime when fastener jams occur. Adjustable driving depth control allows the user to achieve a consistent nail set across different materials, and the anti-dry fire mechanism prevents the tool from firing on an empty magazine, protecting finished surfaces.
A built-in LED work light improves visibility in darker working conditions, and Makita's eXtreme Protection Technology (XPT) provides enhanced resistance to dust and moisture ingress for reliable performance in challenging environments. The tool accepts 18 gauge brad nails from 15mm to 50mm in length.

The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
