Makita DDA460 Twin 18v LXT Cordless Brushless Angle Drill
The Makita DDA460 is a cordless twin 18V LXT brushless angle drill designed for heavy-duty drilling applications in timber and metalwork. Powered by two standard Makita 18V LXT lithium-ion batteries delivering a combined 36V, this angle drill provides the power and performance of a corded machine whilst offering the freedom and manoeuvrability that only a cordless tool can deliver.
This rugged mechanical 2-speed machine features a no-load speed of up to 1,400rpm in high mode and 350rpm in low, with variable speed control via trigger action. With a chuck capacity of 2-13mm, it's capable of drilling up to 13mm in steel and accommodates auger bits up to 50mm diameter for drilling through oak beams and tough knots. When using a self-feed bit in wood, it drills 118mm in low and 65mm in high mode, whilst with a hole saw it achieves 159mm in low and 105mm in high mode.
The DDA460 incorporates Automatic Torque Drive Technology (ATD) which automatically adjusts drilling speed according to load conditions for optimum performance. Safety features include an electric brake, soft start function, and a torque limiter that cuts motor drive if the drill bit snags, providing essential operator protection. The front handle can be positioned anywhere within 0-112.5° for maximum user comfort and control, particularly valuable when working in confined spaces. An auto power-off function automatically shuts down the tool if the trigger isn't pulled for five minutes, conserving battery life.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
