Makita DKP181 18v LXT Cordless Brushless Planer
This is the DKP181Z bare unit, supplied as the tool body only without batteries, charger or case. This configuration is ideal for existing Makita LXT users who already have compatible 18v batteries and chargers in their toolkit, offering excellent value whilst maintaining the same professional performance.
The brushless motor delivers 12,000 RPM for efficient stock removal, with an 82mm planing width and up to 3mm planing depth. The maximum rebate depth of 25mm makes it suitable for a wide range of carpentry and joinery applications. The tool's intelligent Automatic Torque Drive Technology adjusts cutting speed based on load conditions, ensuring consistent results across different materials.
The spring-loaded stand automatically elevates the base when not in use, protecting both the blades and your workpiece. With left and right chipping ejection options and three chamfering grooves in the base, this planer offers excellent versatility for various woodworking tasks.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
