The Makita DLS714N is a professional cordless sliding compound mitre saw powered by Makita's innovative twin 18V LXT battery system, delivering the performance of a corded 36V tool with the freedom of battery operation. This 190mm sliding mitre saw combines a brushless motor with advanced features to deliver mains-equivalent cutting power without the constraints of cables or access to power supplies.
Powered by two 18V LXT batteries running in series, the DLS714N integrates seamlessly with Makita's extensive LXT platform, making it an ideal choice for contractors already invested in the system. The brushless motor technology ensures efficient power delivery whilst reducing maintenance requirements, and the soft start function provides smooth operation with reduced kickback. An electric brake stops the blade quickly for enhanced safety between cuts.
The double sliding mechanism provides excellent stability and precision, with a maximum cutting capacity of 52 x 300mm making it suitable for trim work, framing, and general carpentry applications. The LED indicator panel keeps you informed of remaining battery charge and automatic speed control status, whilst the ergonomic handle features an anti-slip elastomer surface for secure control during operation. The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
