Makita DRT52 18v LXT Cordless Brushless 1/4" Router Trimmer
The Makita DRT52 is an 18v cordless brushless router trimmer engineered for precision routing and trimming applications. Part of Makita's renowned LXT battery platform, this 1/4" collet router delivers the power efficiency of a corded tool with the convenience of cordless operation, making it ideal for joinery work, edge profiling, and detailed trimming tasks on site or in the workshop.
Featuring a brushless motor that provides exceptional runtime and durability, the DRT52 includes a rack-and-pinion fine depth adjustment system for precise control. The quick-release cam lock system enables fast depth adjustments and base changes, whilst the transparent plastic base offers clear visibility of the cutting edge. An LED light indicates when the machine is unlocked, enhancing safety during operation.
The compact, ergonomic design with rubberised soft grip ensures comfortable handling during extended use, reducing operator fatigue. The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
