Built around Makita's renowned 18v LXT lithium-ion battery platform, the DTD156 features an intelligent Battery Protection System that automatically shuts off power when charge levels drop critically low, safeguarding both battery longevity and preventing mid-task power loss. The variable speed trigger provides precise control from 0-2,500rpm, whilst the powerful impact mechanism delivers up to 3,000 impacts per minute for efficient fastening even in dense materials.
Designed with the working tradesperson in mind, this impact driver combines a narrow, ergonomically contoured handle with a lightweight 1.3-1.6kg body to minimise operator fatigue during extended use. An integrated LED job light illuminates the work area in confined spaces or low-light conditions, whilst the quick-mount 6.35mm (1/4") hex drive accepts standard screwdriver bits for rapid accessory changes. The electric brake and forward/reverse rotation switch deliver enhanced control and safety on every application.
Ideal for electricians installing mounting brackets, carpenters driving long fixing screws, or contractors assembling steel frameworks, the DTD156 handles coarse thread fastenings from 22-125mm length and high tensile bolts from M5-M12. The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
