Makita DTR180 18v LXT Cordless Brushless Rebar Tying Tool
The Makita DTR180 is a cordless rebar tying tool designed for fast, efficient tying of reinforcement bar on construction sites. Powered by Makita's 18V LXT lithium-ion battery system (or 14.4V, batteries sold separately) and equipped with a brushless motor for extended runtime, this professional tool eliminates the need for manual tying and produces no heat or sparks, meaning operators don't require GC07 hot-work permits.
The DTR180 delivers double loop ties at the press of a button and can be operated single-handed in either single or continuous mode, leaving your other hand free to position the rebar. In continuous mode, simply hold the trigger and push the contact arm against the workpieces to make multiple ties quickly. The tool handles D10, D13 and D16 rebar in varying combinations of 2, 3 and 4 pieces, making it ideal for concrete foundation work and large-area reinforcement tasks.
Tie strength can be adjusted across six stages to suit different materials and applications. With a BL1850B 5.0Ah battery, you can achieve up to 120 ties using 0.8mm diameter annealed wire. The ergonomic design features soft-grip handles, low noise and vibration levels, and a simple reel change system accessed via the reel cover. Practical details include onboard hex key storage and an included belt clip for convenient site carry.

The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
