Makita DVC865L Twin 18v LXT Cordless Wet and Dry Vacuum Cleaner 8L
The Makita DVC865L is a cordless wet and dry vacuum cleaner designed for professional cleaning tasks in the building maintenance and construction sectors. Powered by two 18V LXT Lithium-Ion batteries in series to deliver 36V performance, this 8-litre capacity vacuum combines the convenience of cordless operation with the power needed for demanding site work.
The brushless motor delivers efficient suction whilst maximising battery runtime, making it ideal for cleaning up both wet spills and dry dust on site. EU dust class L approval ensures it meets stringent requirements for safe collection of hazardous dusts, making it suitable for use alongside power tools that generate fine particulates during cutting, grinding and drilling operations.
Practical features include a large removable on-board storage compartment for convenient organisation of accessories including the hose, pipes and nozzles. The variable suction control dial allows you to adjust power for different materials, whilst the large bumper protects walls and furniture from accidental damage during use.
A support leg with two rollers has been added to the included tool box for improved manoeuvrability, and a caster stopper prevents unwanted movement when working. The unit is compatible with commercial plastic bags for easy disposal and features a large on/off switch for operation even when wearing work gloves.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Important Information about Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaners
The tank capacity quoted is usually quoted for dry vacuuming. Capacity when being used for wet vacuuming will be significantly less than when dry vacuuming. Always read both the wet and dry capacities separately if they are published so as to understand what the difference is.
If in doubt you will always need a larger capacity vacuum than the capacity shown in the title as this will be quoted for dry vacuuming only.
The reason for this reduced capacity is that the water level has to be kept well below the motor and thus the capacity is reduced.
