Makita HP003G 40v Max XGT Cordless Brushless Combi Drill
The Makita HP003G is a professional 40V XGT cordless combi drill designed for drilling, hammer drilling and screw driving applications. Powered by Makita's advanced brushless motor technology and compatible with any battery in the 40V XGT system, this versatile tool delivers up to 180Nm of maximum torque whilst weighing just 2.1kg without battery, making it suitable for extended use across demanding jobsite environments.
New for 2025, the HP003G features a 3-speed mechanical gearbox with a versatile medium setting, offering tradespeople the flexibility to select the optimal balance of speed and torque for each application. The variable speed trigger and electric brake provide precise fingertip control, whilst the included side handle with depth stop enables accurate two-handed operation and consistent drilling depths—ideal for tasks such as inserting wall plugs or working with masonry fixings.
Built for long-term reliability, the HP003G incorporates Makita's XPT (eXtreme Protection Technology) for enhanced resistance against dust and liquids commonly encountered on construction sites. AFT (Active Feedback sensing Technology) monitors rotation speed and automatically shuts off the tool if a sudden drop is detected, helping to prevent injury from binding or snagging. The keyless chuck allows quick accessory changes, whilst the integrated LED work light illuminates the work area in low-light conditions.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.

A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
