Makita HR011G 40v XGT Cordless Brushless SDS Plus Drill
The Makita HR011G is a 40V Max XGT cordless SDS Plus rotary hammer built for professional tradespeople who demand reliable, high-performance drilling and chiselling on site.
Powered by Makita's XGT lithium-ion battery platform and driven by a brushless motor, the HR011G delivers 3.3 Joules of impact energy with a drilling capacity of up to 28mm in concrete, 32mm in wood and 13mm in steel. The brushless motor offers improved efficiency, extended runtime and lower maintenance compared to brushed alternatives — making it well suited to sustained use across construction, installation and renovation projects.
Three operating modes — Rotation Only, Hammer Drilling and Hammer Only — give contractors the flexibility to tackle a wide range of tasks, from masonry drilling and fixings to light demolition and chiselling work. Constant speed control maintains consistent performance under load, while AVT (Anti-Vibration Technology) reduces operator fatigue during prolonged use. AFT (Active Feedback Sensing Technology) automatically cuts motor power if bit rotation stops suddenly, an important safety feature for site use.
The HR011G is AWS Ready, enabling Bluetooth connection to compatible Makita dust extraction systems for automatic activation — useful for maintaining COSHH-compliant dust management on site. XPT (eXtreme Protection Technology) provides enhanced resistance to dust and moisture ingress, and an integrated electronic brake stops the bit rapidly on trigger release for added control and safety.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance.
