Makita ML005GX 40v Max XGT Cordless LED Worklight
The Makita ML005GX 40V Max XGT Cordless LED Worklight is a professional-grade portable work light designed to deliver powerful, flexible illumination across a wide range of job-site conditions.
Powered by Makita's XGT 40V Max battery platform, the ML005GX also accepts LXT 14.4V and 18V batteries, making it an exceptionally versatile choice for contractors already invested in the Makita ecosystem. Its 40 high-output LEDs produce a 5000K daylight-quality light, reducing eye strain during extended use in workshops, loft conversions, and other enclosed spaces.
Three brightness settings — Low (900 lumens), Medium (1,800 lumens), and High (3,600 lumens) — allow you to balance output against runtime to suit the task. A memory function retains your last-used setting, saving time when switching the light on and off between tasks.
The 240-degree vertical tilt range gives precise directional control, while the folding carry handle makes repositioning quick and straightforward. Rated IP65, the ML005GX is fully protected against dust ingress and water jets, making it well suited to exposed or outdoor work environments. Optional tripod mounting (stand sold separately) adds further flexibility on larger sites.

Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
