Sealey VS8812 EOBD Vehicle Code Reader
The Sealey VS8812 is an EOBD vehicle code reader designed to simplify fault diagnosis on modern petrol and diesel vehicles. This diagnostic tool enables mechanics and vehicle technicians to interrogate the vehicle's ECU, read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), and access vital performance data from the engine and transmission systems.
Compatible with all EOBD-compliant petrol vehicles from 2000 onwards and diesel vehicles from 2003 onwards, this code reader provides fast access to diagnostic codes and identifies the cause of an illuminated engine check light (MIL). The CAN-enabled tool retrieves both generic codes (P0, P2, P3 and U10) for engine emissions and manufacturer-specific codes (P1, P3 and U1), displaying fault code definitions directly on-screen for quick identification.
The VS8812 offers comprehensive diagnostic capabilities including access to live data streams from engine and transmission modules, freeze-frame data storage for later analysis, and live O2 sensor data display. The unit supports the extended sensor list (SAE J1979 2007) and includes I/M Readiness monitoring with colour-coded LEDs to eliminate drive cycle guesswork. Once diagnosis is complete, the tool clears codes, turns off the MIL light, and resets monitors. Additional functionality includes vehicle charging and cranking system testing, VIN retrieval, and a modules present test.
Features and Benefits:
• On-screen fault code definitions eliminate the need for separate code lookup
• Patented One-Click I/M readiness button simplifies emissions status checks
• Supports CAN and other current EOBD protocols for wide vehicle compatibility
• Lightweight design at just 0.22kg for easy portability around the workshop
• Tests charging and cranking systems for comprehensive vehicle diagnostics
