Tooled-up delivered very efficiently at a good price. I had borrowed this B&D lopper from a neighbour and was very impressed, until the central metal driver cog wheel parted company from its press fit (heat shrink?) axle. I found a youtube video about the same failure, and my engineer neighbour then rapidly dismantled and fixed the problem. However, it is such a useful tool I decided to buy my own and hope the (Chinese) build quality has been improved.

Love this machine (borrowed one to try before I bought) but a bit disappointed that it was not supplied with a starter bottle of oil especially since it can’t be used for first time without oil. I now have to try and source the oil somewhere locally before I can use it.

This is the second Alligator powered lopper we have had, having completely worn out the first one. They're excellent machines, and very powerful, given their wattage. We used it for the first time last weekend and it made short work of a pile of green wood. We would recommend it as an essential piece of kit.

Really good value for money, looks well made and works well. The only small gripe I have is the included oil can - it would be great if a small amount of oil was included (it wouldn’t cost a lot) which would help to get started with.

The instructions say it needs oil every 10 mins of operation, and I definitely found that to be the case. Small twigs can cause chain fouling. You can chop larger trunks if you're able to rotate the log - look on YouTube. Overall it did what I wanted it to do, the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 for performance is that it needed more attention to the chain than I was expecting.

Q : Hi Guys. It says its delivered on the 22nd May, if i order today or tomorrow would i have to wait 3 weeks for delivery? Cheers Lloyd
A : Hi Lloyd, yes I'm afraid we have had a huge amount of orders placed on the system recently and we're having to try and clear the backlog. Until normal service resumes there are currently delays expected on all orders but we're working hard to get everything out of the door as soon as possible. So I'd assume all delivery times are correct but obviously if we are able to we'll ship faster, and you'll get an email confirmation once the goods are ready to send out.
Q : How long is the cable on the electric alligator looper chainsaw please
A : Hi Moira, the cable on these is around 4 metres long. It's safe to assume you will need to use a cable extension unless you are working close to a power point.
Q : Sirve para enchufe europeos?
A : Hi Ana, I'm afraid our stock only comes with UK plugs attached but I'm but I'm sure you will be able to get a European version from somewhere
Q : does this alligator come with battery operated system?
A : This is a 240v mains powered machine the battery version is the Black & Decker GKC1000
