Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Chainsaws
Always make sure your oil is topped up & your chain is tensioned correctly. This will ensure your chain life is extended & more importantly is operating safely.
Remember Chainsaws are dangerous. Do not attempt to use one if you have not fully read the instructions, are confident in the correct use & have adequate safety equipment & clothing.

Great little chain saw cuts small logs well. Also cuts through pallets for fire wood with ease. I already had two battery packs to use from my power drill so made this Saw excellent value for money. Tooled up were fast and very easy to deal with. Highly recommend for a small handle low duty budget Saw.

Because I am a bit infirm and 80 years old this little gem is perfect, light and easy to carry, and performs very well, best to also purchase the 4 amp hour battery on offer, then you have a bit of poke! Overall a good buy.

Q : Does this chainsaw have a chain brake please? Or any other safety feature which stops is working if it is dropped?
A : I can confirm that the safety feature is provided by the trigger which when released stops the chainsaw.
Q : I have the old style electric chain saw with the old battery. Will a lithium battery fit as a replacement battery?
A : Unfortunately, the older style NICAD batteries are not cross-compatible with newer Li-Ion tools.
Q : I have an 18 volt B/D cordless strimmer will the battery fit GKC1820L
A : I can confirm that the 18V Li-Ion Garden batteries supplied with the black and decker cordless strimmers are compatible with the GKC1820L
Q : Will a 5 amp DeWalt battery fit in this chainsaw?
A : Unfortunately this chainsaw is only compatible with Black and Decker 18V batteries.
