Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Chainsaws
Always make sure your oil is topped up & your chain is tensioned correctly. This will ensure your chain life is extended & more importantly is operating safely.
Remember Chainsaws are dangerous. Do not attempt to use one if you have not fully read the instructions, are confident in the correct use & have adequate safety equipment & clothing.

Like the option of being able to buy the tool without the battery as have batteries from other tools. Performance and build seem good but not had long to test them. Seems good for light garden cutting

Nice bit of kit. I use it for those quick jobs that do not warrant me firing up the petrol chainsaw. I had a couple of minor issues but the Tooled-Up customer services team sorted it out quickly. I must admit, I was impressed with the quick response from the Customer Services team.

Very pleased with the performance of the saw - only downside is that being used to a petrol saw the guard is shaped and looks exactly like a proper chain guard which stop the chain immediatly as a safety function. The guard looks like a traditional chain brake but is only a hand guard

Nothing in blurb to warn that it doesn't come with the necessary oil !! However once oil was acquired and battery charged it performed well and handled easily but chain tension requires regular checking.

It worked fine….once, then refused to work at all. Returned for full refund. Top marks to Tooled-up, but this is a poor piece of kit.

It worked very well for the first cut. Unfortunately that was it’s last! It would not start again! I completely recharged the battery, but still nothing! I have returned it to Tooled-up and am awaiting a refund to enable me to buy a better (more expensive!) tool. Presumably this failure is not everyones experience but on my experience I would not recommend it.

Q : Battery life is very poor lasting no more than approx 15mins. Charging takes over 8 hours!!. Can you recommend a better battery?
A : Hi Bev, chainsaws use a lot of power so they drain batteries a lot quicker than smaller tools like drills. I'm not sure what battery you're currently using, but basically, the higher the Ah rating, the longer the runtime you can expect to get - so for example, the BL4018 4ah battery should last twice as long as the BL2018 2ah battery, although currently the 4ah model is the largest available.
