The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.

A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. Q : Can I get replacment batteries for this model plse. Learned a lesson with Quest handheld....no spares of any kind ie throwaway rubbish. Shouldn't be allowed.
A : Hi John, Black & Decker have quite a comprehensive spares & repairs service, but note that these types of vacuums have an integrated battery which isn't intended to be user-serviceable (and if spares are available, replacement may not be cost effective). You may want to look at alternatives like the BHFEV182 we stock on 21032557 - this is powered by a standard Black & Decker 18v power tool battery, of the same interchangeable type used in their drills, hedge trimmers etc. If you go into the main "Hand Held Vacuum Cleaners" category and then select one or more sub brands (Black & Decker 18v System etc) you will then be able to see all the models which use an interchangeable battery.
Q : What is the difference between Black and Decker PD1820L and Black and Decker PD1820LF
A : Hi Tilly, the "F" version is supplied with the floor tool, which is not included with the standard PD1820L. If you're wondering about the prices, it is currently on special offer - other than that, there is no real difference between the two.
