Bosch EXPERT AVZ 90 RT Starlock Oscillating Multi Tool Sanding Plate
The Bosch EXPERT AVZ 90 RT Starlock Oscillating Multi Tool Sanding Plate is a carbide sanding accessory designed for tackling tough material removal and surface preparation in confined spaces.
Fitted with a Starlock mount, this sanding plate transfers power efficiently from your oscillating multi-tool and can be swapped out in under three seconds — no tools required. The delta shape allows the plate to reach directly into corners and tight niches that conventional sanders simply cannot access.
What sets this accessory apart is the use of Bosch Carbide Technology. High-grade carbide grit is bonded firmly to the plate's surface, providing exceptional durability across multiple materials and extended use. When the plate's performance drops, it can be soaked in solvent to clean the grit and restore cutting efficiency — significantly extending its working life.
This RT2 variant carries a grit size of 20, making it the coarsest option in the EXPERT range. It is well suited to removing mortar from behind tiles, stripping carpet adhesive, and rough shaping of wood. The extra-thin blade profile allows it to reach between floorboards, slats, and other awkward surfaces where conventional tools cannot follow.
Features and Benefits:
• Carbide RIFF grit bonded to the plate surface for long-lasting multi-material sanding
• Delta shape designed to access corners and narrow niches efficiently
• Extra-thin blade profile reaches between floorboards, slats, and tight gaps
• Starlock mount delivers optimum power transfer with a tool-free blade change in under 3 seconds
• Cleanable with solvent to restore performance and extend working life
• Suitable for removing mortar, carpet adhesive, and rough-shaping wood

OIS vs Starlock Accessory Fitment System
OIS Accessories are the standard accessory fitment system for many oscillating multi tools and will only fit OIS multi tools.
Starlock Accessories are a newer type of accessory fitment system developed by Bosch and Fein which is now the standard for a number of brands. It is much more robust than the older OIS system with less weakness in the connection and as such allows for longer and stronger accessories. They still retain the OIS holes so therefore will fit both Starlock and OIS multi tools.
Starlock Plus Accessories can be longer than OIS accessories due to improvements around the fitting mechanism, they will only fit Starlock Plus or Starlock Max multi tools and are generally for heavier duty work. They will not fit OIS or Starlock multi tools.
Starlock Max Accessories are the heaviest duty accessory and will only fit Starlock Max multi tools. Again they can be longer and stronger due both to the starlock fitting system and the power of the machines. They will not fit OIS, Starlock or Starlock Plus multi tools.
