At the heart of Bosch's Particle Control system, this backing pad features a precision-engineered multihole pattern that may appear random but is the result of extensive research. The hole layout is calculated so that enough apertures will always align with the sanding sheet — regardless of sheet orientation — to ensure continuous, efficient dust extraction throughout use.

By channelling dust directly from the sanded surface to your extraction tool, the Particle Control system prevents sheet clogging and significantly extends the working life of your sanding sheets. Bosch states this pad lasts up to 2x longer than the standard 2608601115 backing pad, making it a practical upgrade for contractors and joiners who sand regularly.
